Nikon unveils its new Coolpix P6000 digital camera featuring 13.5 megapixels, an in-built global positioning system (GPS) unit, my Picturetown connectivity and Nikon’s exclusive EXPEED image processing. It claims to be the perfect photographic tool for the demanding photographers.
“We are eager to see the response to the integration of the new capabilities for COOLPIX cameras, as the demands of our consumers are always a priority in product design,” said Bill Giordano, general manager marketing, COOLPIX for Nikon Inc. “ The P6000 is an exciting product offering for Nikon’s COOLPIX line, as it not only provides expanded creative control for photo enthusiasts, but also empowers them with GPS functionality and my Picturetown connectivity.”
With the new integration GPS function, P6000 lets you record “ geotags” of the locations where your images have been captured based on the latitude and longitude. The Picturetown connectivity allows you to upload as well as share photos easily with its support for LAN through a dedicated Ethernet port.
The Coopix Picture control system offers intuitive controls enabling the users to adjust images to pre-set parameters. The images shot in the NRW (RAW) format can be viewed with the Nikon ViewNX Software. The Nikon P6000 comes with intuitive controls and offers programmed auto, shutter-priority auto, aperture-priority anto and manual modes.
Some additional features of the Coolpix P6000 are optical viewfinder, pop-up flash, i-TTL flash control, SDHC support, EN-EL5 rechargeable Li-ion battery, an optional convertor, speedlights and wireless remote control.
The Nikon Coolpix P6000 Camera is side to be available in September 2008 for $499.95 (approx Rs. 20,988).
